Environmental & Industrial Relations Policies

Corporate Environmental Policy

The prime objective of Oresorting Australia is to be proactive in protecting the safety and health of personnel who are employed to assist our clients in the Mining, Industrial and Commercial industries and to maintain a reputation of being environmentally responsible.


To achieve this objective Oresorting Australia has a commitment to operate in an environmentally responsible manner and ensure that we:


  • Comply with all the applicable Federal and State Government Regulations for the protection of the environment.
  • Establish and maintain proper standards of environmental care through audit and self-regulation.
  • Provide adequate training to ensure employees and contractors recognise the potential impact of their activities and monitor the state of the government.
  • Design, operate and decommission all facilities and associated infrastructure to avoid adverse environmental input.


It is the responsibility of all Oresorting Australia employees and contractors to minimise unnecessary disturbance of the environment. It is expected that all employees and contractors will act, at all times, with environmental common sense.


To achieve our objective to protect the environment the following guidelines that are to be adopted by all personnel:

Soil Erosion, Flora and Fauna

  • Care must be taken to not unnecessarily destroy vegetation or interfere with native animals.
  • Trees, other plants and dead wood must not be unnecessarily removed.
  • Efforts will be made to protect the soil from wind and water erosion.
  • When driving in the bush, do not travel on unmarked roads or in virgin bush, keep to clearly marked roads or trails.

Chemical Pollution

  • Care must be taken with regards to the management of oils, fuels, detergents, industrial wastes, chemicals in general and any materials containing reagents to prevent the contamination of the soil from such products.
  • Personnel is to make themselves fully aware of the hazardous materials handling procedures associated with these products.
  • Foreign materials must not be released into any watercourse or drain.

Fires

  • No fires are to be lit without the direct approval of the employee or contractor’s supervisor. When approved they are not to be left unattended.


All employees and contractors are to make themselves fully aware of the client’s Environmental Management Plan (EMP). This plan will be site specific to the area that is to be maintained and services.


As a company, we will endeavour to take all action necessary to prevent pollution, erosion and degradation of the environment and respect all environmental values.

Industrial Relations Policy

The success of the Oresorting Australia depends largely on the capability, commitment and productivity of our employees.


The relationship between the Oresorting Australia and our employees is held to be a business issue that is considered equally alongside the health, safety and welfare of our employees and other matters such as costs, schedule and quality.


Oresorting Australia’s key industrial relation objectives are to:


  • Ensure compliance with applicable Legislation, agreements and/or Awards. ▪ Apply all policies and procedures in an equitable and fair manner.
  • Provide a working environment free from discrimination, harassment or victimisation.
  • Monitor industrial relations performance and activities of subcontractors and suppliers, and maintain effective communication with them.
  • Promote open and effective communication between employees at all levels, and any elected representatives together with other interested parties.
  • Encourage a cooperative, consultative approach in order identify, minimise, manage and resolve issues quickly and efficiently, and expect the same from all interested parties.
